Our Favorite Restaurants
From fine dining to simple fare, traditional American to global cuisine, Bloomington offers a flavorful smorgasbord of savory delights. We love the vast variety (and price points!) that can be found nearly everywhere you turn. Hot dining spots are “Restaurant Row” on 4th Street between South Dunn and South Grant - all locally owned with international flavor. On the downtown square you’ll find some local favorites including Malibu Grill, Amrit India, The Bakehouse, No Coast Reserve, King Dough, Grazie, and The Tap. Surrounding the downtown square are other gems such as Japonee, Scotty’s Brewhouse, Janko’s Little Zagreb, The Crazy Horse, and the Irish Lion. Along Kirkwood Avenue, look for some iconic Bloomington locales, such as Nick’s English Hut, the Village Deli and Laughing Planet. Other standouts include Feast Bakery Café, Scenic View, Big Woods, Turkuaz Café, and Hartzell’s for ice cream.
Here are our own current favorites:
For Farm-to-Table specialties with all locally-grown ingredients: we can’t choose - Farm, Feast, and Finch’s Brassiere are each superb.
Most authentic Mediterranean cuisine: Turkuaz Café, their pides(Turkish pizza) and kababs are delicious, and the ambience takes you right back to Istanbul.
